When Little Rooster was welcomed home 8 days ago, she was depressed and at about 10% of her usual vitality. At my last apartment building, the nickname given to her by the other dog parents on the playground was, "Excitable Dog". It was a building filled with burnt out hippies, college kids and "artists" -not the most creative, but it stuck.
